Niseko
The powder capital of Japan
Niseko is the resort that put Japanese powder on the map. Sitting on the flank of Mount Annupuri in western Hokkaido, it catches moisture-laden storms rolling off the Sea of Japan and turns them into some of the driest, deepest, most reliable snow on earth — an average of around 15 metres a season.
"Niseko United" links four interconnected ski areas — Grand Hirafu, Hanazono, Niseko Village and Annupuri — under a single lift pass. Around them has grown the most international resort town in Japan, with English spoken everywhere, world-class dining, and a legendary après scene. It is the easiest place for a first-time visitor to Japan to have a spectacular powder holiday.
